To celebrate WMO's 50th Anniversary, a series of unique events are taking place throughout year 2000. These events cater for a wide range of ages and interests. The Open Days for the public were designed to be a truly "family" day out, whereas the Scientific Media Conference aimed at a more technical-minded audience. However, the Special Interest Events are sure to please all comers!

Commemorative celebrations have also taken place at many National Meteorological and Hydrological Services throughout the world.
