The roots and the strength of WMO are embedded in global cooperation, as weather and climate do not recognise political or economic boundaries. WMO was founded to facilitate world-wide cooperation for making meteorological, hydrological and related geophysical observations, for encouraging standardization and exchange of such data and for their practical applications in support of weather-sensitive socio-economic sectors such as agriculture, water resources management, aviation and shipping.
Links to today's forecasts made by the National Meteorological Services of WMO Member countries can be found here, as examples of the international cooperation that WMO fosters and encourages.
