Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)Fourth Assessment Report: Climate Change 2007The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was established by WMO and the United Nations Environment Programme to assess scientific, technical and socio-economic information relevant for the understanding of climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation. The IPCC has recently finalized its Fourth Assessment Report (AR4) entitled Climate Change 2007. The reports by the three Working Groups provide a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the current state of knowledge on climate change. The Synthesis Report, which integrates the information around six topic areas, was issued at the 27th session of the IPCC in Valencia, Spain, on 17 November 2007.
