Blue Peace - Water Security in the Middle East
Strategic Management of Hydrological and Meteorological Data and Information
In October 2012, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Swiss Development and Cooperation agency (SDC) entered into an agreement for the project titled: “Blue Peace-Water Security in the Middle East: Strategic Management of Hydrological and Meteorological Data and Information Product Generation”. The project aims to strengthen the delivery of weather, water, and climate services in Middle Eastern countries, to support economic development and disaster risk management. Focusing on water management issues, the project would help key national stakeholders to improve their coordination in monitoring and data sharing activities, as well as enhance the regional coordination and collaboration in addressing water management and climate change adaptation.
