Quality Management System in Africa
The National Meteorological Institute of Tunisia and Tanzania Meteorological Agency have both successfully implemented and enhanced their quality management systems and received ISO 9001:2008 certification. This makes them part of the first African NMHSs to receive the certificate, recognizing their conformity to international quality norms in the field of meteorological services. This certification has also required officials and professionals in the meteorological services to better understand and meet the demands of their customers and contribute to ensuring the safety of people and goods.
The National Meteorological Institute of Tunisia had already implemented a total quality management system for services for air navigation, thus complying with the relevant standards of the ICAO Annex III for international quality standards.
