MEASUREMENT OF PEAK DISCHARGE AT CULVERTS BY INDIRECT METHODS
1. Purpose and objectives
To compute peak discharge through a culvert from high-water marks
above and below the culvert.
The manual classifies culvert flow into six types, gives discharge
equations based on continuity and energy equations, and describes
procedures for measuring peak discharges using culverts. Discharge
