Tenth session of the RA I Working Group on Hydrology

The tenth session of the RA I Working Group on Hydrology was held in Entebbe, Uganda from 31 May to 2 June 2010. It was attended by thirty four participants from twenty three countries including representatives from UN and River Basin Organizations, Economic Groupings and WMO delegates. Re-establishment of the Working Group on Hydrology

The fourteenth session of the Regional Association I, which met in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) from 14 to 23 February 2007, re-established the Working Group on Hydrology for the inter-sessional period 2007-2010.

The session appointed Mr Dumsani Mndzebele (Swaziland) as Regional Hydrological Adviser and chairperson of the Group and Mr Jean-Claude Ntonga (Cameroon) the vice-chairperson. The Association also appointed the following to serve as Sub-regional Coordinators:

• Mr Fred Kyosingira (Uganda) - Eastern Africa sub-region
• Mr Zacharia Maswuma (South Africa) - Southern Africa sub-region
• Mr Frigui Hassen Lofti (Tunisia) - Northern Africa sub-region
• Mr Jean-Claude Ntonga (Cameroon) - Central Africa sub-region
• Mr Abrahman Sow (Guinea) - Western Africa sub-region
• Mr Frankie Dupres (Seychelles) - Liaison officer to Tropical Cyclone Committee
  

The session adopted, by its Resolution 16 (XIV-RA I) [EN] [FR] Working Group on Hydrology, the programme of work of the Group on the basis of a proposal developed by the RA I WGH at its ninth session in Arusha (Tanzania), 28 November -1 December 2006 (report of the session [EN], rapport de la session [FR]).
