Dossier on the Space-based component of the GOS and related information
New issue of the Dossier on the Space-based Component of the Global Observing System (GOS-2010) for download. The dossier, updated in January 2010, includes:
- Introduction
- Volume 1: Satellite programme description
- Volume 2: Earth Observation satellites and their instruments
- Volume 3: Gap Analysis in the space-based component of the GOS
- Volume 4: Estimated performance of products from typical instruments
- Volume 5: Compliance analysis of potential produt performance with user requirements
Beware: This set of documents is available in a folder in compressed form (zipped) because of its large volume (13 MB). Do not open the folder on-line but rather download it and save it on your computer. Then the five volumes need to be extracted together (Use "Extract all files") and kept in a common folder without changing the file names in order to preserve the hyperlinks among them. Total size, uncompressed, is 43 MB.
The Dossier on the space-based GOS is maintained by WMO with input from all contributing space agencies in the framework of CGMS. This work is also coordinated with the European Space Agency's effort to maintain the Earth Observation Handbook on behalf of CEOS.
On line information on EO missions is also available on the ESA Earth Observation portal.
