GSICS Inter-Calibration

GSICS logo

Accurate calibration of satellite instruments against common references is essential for climate change detection and improved weather and climate predictions.

WMO and the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS) have implemented the Global Space-based Inter-Calibration System (GSICS), to achieve consistent calibration of satellite measurements from different instruments, satellites and agencies, and to tie these measurements to absolute references.
