ET 2.1 - Expert Team on WAMIS

Terms of Reference for Expert Team 2.1

(a) Review the current progress, existing content of the WAMIS website and meeting reports from previous WAMIS meetings;

(b) Review potential modules to add to the NEXT Phase WAMIS;

(c) Review the revised web design of the WAMIS webpage;

(d) Make recommendations to the CAgM MG on the further Next Phase WAMIS developments.

ET 2.2 - Expert Team on Data Issues in Agrometeorology: Observations and Integration

Terms of Reference for Expert Team 2.2

(a) Review existing practices on the integration of in-situ observations and remote sensing measurements and liaise with the TT 2.2 on Soil Moisture Measurements;

(b) Report and recommendations to CAgM on a review of existing practices on the integration of in-situ observations and remote sensing measurements;

(c) Review existing WMO procedures and guidelines on operational reporting requirements;

(d) Develop draft guidance material on integrating national agricultural meteorological networks into the meteorological service networks (i.e. GTS, WIGOS, WIS);

(e) Provide expertise and guidance to the various WIGOS and WIS groups on matters related to agricultural meteorology.

TT 2.1 - Task Team on Agromet and GIS Applications for Agricultural Decision Making

Terms of Reference for Task Team 2.1

(a) Review existing practices using GIS to integrate weather, climate, agricultural and related data to support agricultural meteorological products and models;

(b) Prepare draft guidance material for CAgM members based on this review in (a);

(c) Develop draft GIS examples in agrometeorology for training courses

Terms of Reference for Task Team 2.2

(a) Review existing practices of measurements including sensors on soil moisture;

(b) Review the integration of in-situ observations soil moisture measurements with remote sensing measurements (i.e. MODIS, SMAP):

(c) Provide inputs and recommendations to ET 2.2 on integrating in-situ observations soil moisture measurements with remote sensing measurements;

(d) Prepare draft guidance material for CAgM members based on this review in (a);

TT 2.3 - Task Team on Flux Measurements for Agriculture

Terms of Reference for Task Team 2.3

(a) Assemble a list of existing long-term agricultural flux tower sites with a short description of the measured fluxes;

(b) Identify key experts for developing regional standards of flux measurements for agriculture. Regional standards would account for the dominant constraints affecting flux measurements.  The ad hoc experts will be invited to join the CAgM task team 2.3;

(c) Provide a status report to CAgM on the state of flux measurements for agriculture.
