	Report of the first meeting of the CCl Expert Group on Quality Management for Climatology (EG-QMC),Geneva, SWITZERLAND, 21- 23 September 2011

Terms of Reference

1. Advise MG and CCl on priorities and approaches with respect to (w.r.t) the development and implementation of a strategy on QM for climatology with consideration given to experience gained in other Commissions on WMO-QMF;
2. Report on best practices in QM in other disciplines and foster their adaptation to NMHSs and RCCs and other climate institutions considering the wide spectrum of their level of competency and sophistication in climate activities;
3. Develop an integrated concept for implementation of QM in the areas of climatology;
4. Propose CCl-reference documents and practices as candidate subjects for developing new common ISO/WMO technical standards;
5. Liaise with the EC relevant body on QMF and other commissions; and
6. Report regularly to CCl president and CCl-MG.
