The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will participate in COP 17, Durban South Africa, 28 November-9 December 2011. It will organize a joint side event with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) entitled: Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS): Climate Information for Sustainable Development, Room 5, 13:45 to 14:45, 1 December (flyer). Web cast A side event on Multi-stakeholder Collaboration to Reinforce Adaptation Opportunities for African Pastoral Indigenous Peoples which is being organized by the the Chadian Ministry of Urban and Rural Hydrology, the Association des Femmes Peules Autochtones du Tchad (IFPAT) and the Indigenous Peoples of Africa Coordinating Committee (IPACC) will take place on Friday, 2 December 2011 from 20:15-21:45 hrs in Levubu River Room. WMO is among the co-sponsors of this side event. WMO will also organize a side event on Improving Livelihood in Africa through GFCS in the Climate Change Response Expo (CCR), 12:30 to 14:30 hrs on 3 December (English flyer, French flyer).
