Evaluation and Documentation of the new Climate Data Management Systems (CDMSs)

Following the recommendations of the WMO Fifty-third Executive Council and the 13th session of the Commission for Climatology (November 2002) a workshop was held at the WMO Secretariat from 27 May to 1 June 2002 to complete the documentation of the CDMSs being offered by some Member countries (Australia, the Czech Republic, Jordan, France, the Russian Federation, Tunisia and Zimbabwe) to share with other WMO Members.

An external team of experts evaluated and documented each system. A report for each system along with a comparative criteria table were produced.

These systems will gradually replace the CLICOM system:

iADAMA Australia
CLIDATA Czech republic
JCDMS Jordan
CLISYS France
CLIWARE Russian Federation
SDCLIM Tunisia
CLIMSOFT Zimbabwe
