Description |
The Comprehensive Nuclear
Test-ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO) has concluded a formal working
arrangement with the WMO, which, inter alia, includes the provision to the
World Weather Watch/Global Observing System (WWW-GOS) of
meteorological measurements generated by the global radionuclide
monitoring station network operated by the CTBTO. The network, which will
eventually comprise about 80 stations, is being implemented. |

|
The meteorological data
are extracted in real-time from a CTBTO-specific
data stream by the Canadian Meteorological Centre
(CMC), Montreal. The data are encoded in the WMO code
SYNOP/MOBILE and routinely exchanged on the World
Weather Watch/Global Telecommunication System (WWW-GTS). A station
report includes air pressure, temperature, wind direction and speed. |
