Advanced Notifications:
Each responsible RTH should send advanced notifications to the WMO Secretariat when amendments on the bulletins generated in its responsible zone are confirmed. In practice, FTP put procedures are used to transfer a file of the advanced notification to the appropriate directory on the WMO FTP server. In addition to FTP, an e-mail should be sent to the WMO Secretariat to notify the transfer.
Semi annual files:
The responsible RTH should update the valid catalogue in its FTP server periodically in accordance with the information in the advanced notification that has already become effective in implementation date.
The responsible RTH should provide the updated valid catalogue to the WMO Secretariat when it is updated. The procedures are the same as the ones for the advanced notification, that is, FTP put procedures with notification by e-mail. Although the cycle of the updates depends on the condition of the responsible RTH, the valid catalogue shall be updated at least twice a year (by 1 March and 1 September) for the Secretariat's work on new editions of Volume C1.
