Future Plans

Arrangements will be made for the attachment during the hurricane season (four to six weeks) of two or three forecasters  from NMHSs in RA IV to RSMC Miami.

• The 30th Session of the Hurricane Committee was held in Orlando, Florida, USA from 23 to 28 April 2008.

• The RA IV Workshop on Hurricane Forecasting and Warning and PWS was held in Miami, FL, USA from 7 to 19 April 2008.

• The 29th Session of the Hurricane Committee was held in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles, from 27 March to 3 April 2007.

• The RA IV Workshop on Hurricane Forecasting and Warning and PWS was held in Miami, FL, USA from 16 to 28 April 2007.

• The 28th Session of the Hurricane Committee was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 30 March  to 4 April 2006.

• The RA IV Workshop on Hurricane Forecasting and Warning and PWS was held in Miami, FL, USA from 6 to 18 March 2006.

• The RA IV Workshop on Hurricane Forecasting and Warning and PWS was held in Miami, FL, USA from 11 to 23 April 2005.

• The English and French versions of the Hurricane Operational Plan (2005 edition) was published by WMO in May 2005.

• The 27th Session of the Hurricane Committee will be held in San Jose, Costa Rica from 31 March  to 5 April 2005.

• The English version of the Hurricane Operational Plan (2004 edition) was published by WMO in May 2004.

• The 27th Session of the Hurricane Committee was held in Mexico City, Mexico, 31 March  to 3 April and 7 April 2003.

• Three meteorologists from the Mexican Air Force was stationed at the RSMC Miami during 2003.

• A Caribbean Hurricane Awareness Tour (CHAT) took place from 15 to 21 March 2004 and consisted of a U.S. Air Force C-130 (J-model) hurricane hunter plane visiting Tampico, Mexico, Dominica, Martinique and Guadeloupe (France) and both Ponce and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
