Bangladesh
Over 200 houses were washed away by floodwaters and crops damaged by heavy rain.  

Bulgaria
More than 70 heads of livestock were killed by lightning. 

China
Floods killed at least 46 people in southern China and forced more than 120 000 to flee their homes. 

Honduras
At least four people died and about 1 500 others were forced from their homes.  

Hungary
Heavy rainfall triggered flooding in the north-east.   

India
Twenty-eight people died from lightning strikes and rain-related accidents which also caused the displacement of over 25 000 people.  

Indonesia
At least 92 people were killed and 42 others reported missing in Sulawesi after torrential rains caused floods and landslides. 

Nigeria
Several hours of torrential rains disrupted air traffic in Gombe State. 

Poland and Slovakia
Hundreds of people were evacuated in flooding caused by torrential rain.

Romania
At least 10 people died in flooding and three others were declared missing. 

USA
Torrential rains sparked flash floods across Houston (Texas), Washington DC, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. Streets were flooded and communications and transport systems were disrupted.

Drought was declared in 15 departments on Tuesday as temperatures climbed above seasonal norms and officials took early steps to protect the elderly.

Two counties in Texas experienced severe drought.
