Austria, Canada, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Madagascar, Mozambique, Pakistan, USA, Yemen, Zambia

Austria
A  winter storm disrupted the flow of electricity to 40 000 households.

Canada
Mudslides and floods obstructed a main railway line.

Fiji
Five people were drowned in flash flooding triggered by torrential rain.

India
Some 28 people were killed and 25 others severely burnt in lightning strikes in Uttar Pradesh.

Indonesia
At least 40 people were killed in landslides triggered by heavy rains.

Madagascar
At least 69 people were killed and thousands rendered homeless in a cyclone that swept through the north of the island.

Mozambique
At least 16 people were buried in mudslides caused by torrential rains.

Pakistan
Landslides triggered by heavy rains buried homes, leaving 31 people dead.

Republic of Yemen
At least 12 people were killed and dozens of homes destroyed in heavy rain storms in Yemen.

USA
Flooding caused by torrential rainstorms killed two people and destroyed property.

Zambia

Thousands of homes and white maize, the major food crops to over 1.4 million people were destroyed by floods.

Cyclone Jacob brought heavy rain and wind gusts up to 100 km/h cross Western Australia.

A sudden duststorm, with wind speeds reaching 53 knots injured several people and damaged many homes.

Storm with winds of up to 80 km/h killed at least 10 people, injured 100 others and damaged nearly 300 houses.

Islamic Republic of Iran
A sand storm killed three people in a desert city.

United Arab Emirates

Wind carrying sand and dust forced people to remain indoors for several days.

A massive spring storm spawned tornados from the Rocky Mountains to the central Plains, killing at least four people.

At least 17 people were killed in avalanches and floods triggered by heavy rain.

Snow forced several schools to close.

Four people were killed in an avalanche of ash and mud.

Heavy snow across obstructed transportation.

Australia
Australia declared the first-ever official drought emergency in the state of Victoria.

Prolonged drought increased the threat to drinking water supplies affecting 13.4 million people and 12 million heads of cattle.

Acute water shortage forced authorities in the Andaman Islands to tap dozens of disused wells.

USA
Los Angeles experienced its longest dry season in 130 years.
