Heavy rains, floods, landslides, monsoon, storms - Afghanistan, China, Germany, India, Nepal, Pakistan

Afghanistan

Flash floods triggered by heavy rain killed at least 35 people in Nuristan and Wardak provinces. Hundreds of acres of farmlands in eight districts were also destroyed.

China
At least 700 people were killed and more than 1 000 others reported missing in landslides caused by torrential rains that destroyed hundreds of buildings in Zhougu county, Gansu province.

Germany
Floods caused by torrential rain left 14 people dead and several others missing.

India
At least 59 people were killed and many more were missing in the flash floods that devastated the Ladakh region.

Nepal
At least 14 persons were killed in two separate incidents of floods and landslides in Dolakha and Jajarkot districts, with hundreds displaced in Sildjure and Kaski.

Pakistan
At least 1 200 people were killed and over 3.2 million affected in the worst floods in its history.

Drought - Russian Federation
Severe drought withered millions of acres of wheat in the country and caused the rise of prices that forced the government to ban grain exports.

Heatwave - United Arab Emirates
