Floods killed at least 12 people in Samangan province.

At least one person was killed and several hundreds of homes damaged in a tidal surge triggered by a storm in the Bay of Bengal.

Five children were killed by a lightning bolt in the outskirts of Ngaoundere, Adamawa province.

Drought - China, France, Ukraine

Over 1 million people in China’s western province of Gansu suffered from acute water shortage as a result of the worst drought in 60 years.

Water rationing was imposed in seven out of its 96 mainland departments, amid fears of a summer drought.

Severe drought across the country killed about 400000 hectares of crops.

Heat wave - India
Northern India experienced searing heat with temperatures some six degrees above normal.

Heavy storm, tornado - Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, USA

At least 14 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in a ferocious tornado which devastated the town of Bebedjia.

Democratic Republic of Congo
At least 17 people drowned in a river as a result of heavy storm.

Eight people were killed and several dozens injured in tornadoes that ripped through Greensburg in Kansas.
