WMO Websites on official city weather forecasts and global severe weather:
new domain names

From 23 March 2006 onwards, the official domain name of the World Weather Information Service (WWIS) Website (English version) will change to worldweather.wmo.int. Similarly, the Severe Weather Information Centre (SWIC) Website will take on a new domain name severe.worldweather.wmo.int. These new domain names carry the tag ".wmo.int" facilitating ready identification of these Websites as part of WMO. National Meteorological and Hydrological Services as well as members of the public are now encouraged to start using the new domain names and help tell other users about them.

The old domain names, i.e. www.worldweather.org (WWIS) and severe.worldweather.org (SWIC), will continue to be operative for some time and will be phased out in due course. The two Websites are operated by the Hong Kong Observatory, Hong Kong, China, on behalf of WMO.
