The Meteorological Service of Romania: 120 years
In September 2004, the Meteorological Service of Romania celebrated its 120th anniversary. The event was marked locally at the seven Regional Meteorological Centres around the country and, on 20 September, at national level, in Bucharest. More than 150 personalities from Romania and abroad attended from universities, research institutions, 18 National Meteorological Services, international organizations, including WMO, EUMETSAT and ECMWF, and the media.
On 21 September, the National School of Meteorology was officially opened at Afumati, near Bucharest. See: http://www.inmh.ro/ |
