The Climate in Poland 2020

The Climate in Poland 2020 has been published by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – National Research Institute, as a synthesis description of the Poland’s climate in the last year, presented in relation to the long-term climate characteristics and from the perspective of global warming. The area average air temperature in 2020 in Poland reached 9.9°C and was higher by 1.6°C than the average long-term temperature value for the climatological normal period 1981-2010. 2020 was the second warmest year from the beginning of regular instrumental measurements in Poland. Only 2019 was warmer. Winter 2019/2020, i.e., the period from December 2019 to the end of February 2020 was the warmest winter season in the history of temperature measurements.
