The northeastern regions of Libya have been affected by weather extremes on Saturday 7 November, 2020 - NMC of Libya

Weather extremes have affected the northeastern regions of Libya on Saturday 7 / 11 / 2020. Heavy rain hit the areas of Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar causing floods. The rainfall rates ranged from 85 – 110 mm in Shahat, Al-Bayda and Al-Abraq, including the far eastern coast, where it exceeded 40 mm, and accompanied by north-western winds exceeding 30 knots. The flooding caused material damages to buildings, electricity and telecommunication networks. The National Meteorological Centre (NMC) issued and disseminated an early warning 48 hours before these extremes occurred.
